Hood Kicks off Victim’s Rights Week
In a series of events throughout the week, Attorney General Jim Hood will help mark the National Victim’s Rights Week. Hood said, “Our office is launching a public service announcement to help crime victims know what their rights under the law are, and to better prepare them for the criminal prosecution of their crime.” “Working to improve the lives of those who have been victimized by crime is my passion, and I’ll see to it that my office does everything in our power to protect victims. Regardless of the nature of the crime, advocating for those who have been wronged is major priority,” Hood continued. In addition to attending various crime victims events and vigils, Hood will continue to fight for crime victims through producing public service announcements and written guides letting victims know their rights, and will continue that effort through legislative initiatives, and criminal prosecution.
